Background

On 5 December 2023, the EIT Community – in collaboration with the European Commission, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) – is organising the third edition of the Women and Girls in STEM Forum. The hybrid event will gather researchers, practitioners, and influential stakeholders in STEM and gender equality and connect them with the students participating in Girls Go Circular’s innovative learning programme.

Programme

The Women and Girls in STEM Forum will encompass two main sessions:

  • An expert panel discussion: Industry leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs from the private and public sectors will exchange good practices and discuss solutions to bridge the gender gap in STEM, ICT and innovation in Europe.
  • A student competition: Girls Go Circular alumnae were invited to participate in a Robot Design Challenge in which they had to create a green robot prototype. During the Forum, the Top 3 finalist teams will present their idea to a jury of experts who will select the winning team with the help of the public!

This event, hosted by EIT RawMaterials, is supported by the European Commission and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem offering opportunities for innovators at every step of their journey.
