The EIT Awards 2012 were held on 21 February 2012, in partnership with the Science|Business Innovation Board AISBL, a Belgium not-for-profit association that manages the Academic Enterprise Awards (ACES) programme.
The event culminated in a day-long conference at the Royal Academy of Science in Brussels, which focused on how to unlock Europe’s innovation potential and the various challenges European entrepreneurs face.
A day before the conference, the award nominees were invited to attend a training course to help them successfully present their business and prepare for their pitch at the conference.
The programme for the conference can be found here.
Details of the speakers at the conference can be found here.
During the conference, the 2012 nominees gave three-minute “elevator” pitches to present their ideas to the judging panel. They then took part in Q&A sessions with the other nominees from their KIC, talking about their ambitions, challenges, etc.
The 2012 winners were announced at the end of the day, and the ceremony was followed by a reception and gala dinner at the Palais D’Egmont in Brussels.
