Upcoming Calls

In July 2019, the European Commission proposed a new long-term strategy for the EIT, the EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) for 2021-2027. The SIA introduces new plans for the EIT during this period, including the launch of new EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities.

The first new Community is set to focus on the cultural and creative industries (CCI): EIT Culture & Creativity. To learn more about the theme for this new proposed EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community, download the factsheet.

Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) are Europe's heart and soul. They highlight both our diversity and unity, and inspire us to innovate. The cultural and creative sectors are key drivers of economic growth and job creation across Europe but have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing crisis. The suspension of cultural and creative activities has led to widespread job loss and economic disruption. It is therefore critical to support these sectorss by creating new opportunities for innovation, education, business creation and acceleration. This will power the next generation of innovators and creatives across Europe.

By uniting cultural and creative leaders in an EIT pan-European innovation ecosystem, EIT Culture and Creativity will deliver innovative solutions to help these industries and sectors become stronger and more resilient.  It would train the sector’s future entrepreneurs, power its cutting-edge ventures, and deliver innovative solutions to the challenges facing the sectors. It would also bridge regional innovation gaps and harness the power of these sectors to support Europe’s cultural leadership.
