Grants awarded

The EU provides funding for a broad range of projects and programmesFunding is managed according to the EU Financial Regulation to ensure there is tight control over how funds are used and that the money is spent in a transparent, accountable manner. Funds can be provided in the form of Grants  for specific projects in relation to EU policies, usually following a public announcement known as a 'call for proposals'. Part of the funding comes from the EU, part from other sources.

The EIT's financial contribution to the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) is provided in the form of a grant for action, where the EIT funding rate for the specific grant may be up to 100% of the total eligible costs of the Knowledge and Innovation Community added-value activities (those activities that contribute to the integration of the knowledge triangle and the overall objectives of the EIT, including the establishment, administrative and coordination activities of the KICs), depending on the maturity of the KIC, in accordance with the funding rates laid down in the EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda 2021-2027 (SIA).
