“A Boost for Rural Lignite Regions” aims to develop an online simulation tool that will be used for stakeholder engagement in three European energy transition areas. The project focuses on three regions: Lusatia in Germany, Eastern Greater Poland in Poland, and Gorj in Romania. In the first project year, REBOOST is focused mainly on understanding the study areas, the stakeholders' perceptions and attitudes, the so-called mental landscape which encompasses the manoeuvre spaces as well as the barriers to and opportunities for decarbonisation actions. Hereby, the emphasis is placed on how the stakeholders see their own current and future situation and not on how it actually is in terms of a scientific analysis of their economic, social and political situation.
