SIA STAKEHOLDER CONFERENCE

The EIT’s draft Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) will outline the EIT’s long term priority fields for future initiatives for a period of seven years.

The EIT will present its Draft Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) to the European Commission in June 2011 in the context of the European Commission’s EU2020 Strategy and the Communication on the Innovation Union and for a period of seven years starting from 2014. Subsequently, on a proposal from the Commission, the SIA will be adopted by the European Parliament and the Council.

The SIA will map out EIT’s long term development within the Innovation Union, including the creation of new KICs, close links with the private sector and a stronger role in entrepreneurship.

On 14 April 2011, the EIT organised a conference under the auspice of the Hungarian Presidency, which aims on the one hand, to allow the EIT Governing Board to present its strategic vision for the future of the EIT and new Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) and, on the other hand, to gain valuable, first hand feedback from key EIT stakeholders.
