A new approach for Industry-Academia Collaboration in Europe

EIT Manufacturing is part of the Horizon Europe project INDUSAC

Under the lead of our EIT Manufacturing member Jozef Stefan Institute (JSI) from Slovenia, in total nine consortium partners from all over Europe met in Brussels in the beginning of September to kick-off a new European project on industry-academia collaboration, called INDUSAC.

The consortium partners were kindly hosted at the Permanent Representation of Slovenia to the European Union in Brussels which provided an inspirational environment for the project to start its first activities.

INDUSAC’s main objective is to develop and validate a state-of-the-art Industry-Academia Collaboration (IAC) mechanism for quick, challenge-driven and human-centered co-creation. It builds upon pre-existing IAC mechanisms to facilitate a simple and user-friendly co-creation process that allows to develop solutions to clearly address the needs and interests of companies, students, and researchers in the EU, with a special focus on so-called widening and associated countries. The project also aims at creating a dynamic community of industry-academia stakeholders, including at least 1 000 companies, 3 000 students and 300 researchers by the end of the 3-years project.

INDUSAC is strengthened by a strong interdisciplinary, cross-sectorial and geographically balanced partnership that is able to bring in the needed expertise and network to achieve the project goals. The consortium partners are: Jozef Stefan Institute – JSI (Slovenia), Karlsruher Institut für Technologie – KIT (Germany), Bax Innovation Consulting (Spain), Innovawin (Spain), CIT UPC – UPC BarcelonaTech Technology Center (Spain), The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya (Hungary), Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus), Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster (Poland) and EIT Manufacturing East (Austria).

The project is funded under HORIZON EUROPE within the umbrella of the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HADEA).
