Head of Operations (AD 11)

The EIT is now organising a call for expressions of interest with a view to establishing a reserve list for Temporary Staff (TA) for the profile of Head of Operations – Innovation, Education and Communication. The place of employment will be Budapest, where the seat of the EIT is located.

The Head of Operations will manage the units in charge of Innovation, Education and Communication at the seat of the EIT in Budapest, backing and supporting the EIT Director in line with the strategic objectives set in the EIT’s Strategic Innovation Agenda 2021-2027 and single Programming Document. As part of the management team, the jobholder will be responsible for aligning operational activities across core business units of the EIT. She or he will supervise the EIT’s Entrepreneurship Education Agenda, Regional Innovation Scheme, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement activities. She or he will also supervise new programmes such as the EIT’s Deep Tech Talent Initiative and Synergies with other programmes such as the European Innovation Council. The jobholder will be accountable and report to the EIT Director. The Head of Operations will support and back the Director when required in overseeing the EIT overall plan of core operations and work closely with the team that Supervises the Knowledge and Innovation Communities. In the absence of the Director, the Head of Operations may be asked to replace the Director in his absence and receive a delegation for certain activities.

The Head of Operations will drive operations and processes necessary to shape the EIT’s current and future partnerships within EIT.

TASKS

  • Support the achievement of the EIT’s objectives falling into the scope of activities under her/his responsibility, including the design and supervision of the implementation of strategies and programmes . 
  • Manage, co-ordinate and implement activities of the operations - Innovation Capacity, Entrepreneurship Education, Innovation, including the Regional Innovation Scheme and Global Outreach, Public and Community Affairs and Communications, ensuring their coherence and compatibility with the overall policies of the Agency as well as the relevant quality standards. 
  • Supervise her/his units’ work programme including financial and human resources needs, coordinate work between his units and with other units at the EIT by ensuring their coherence and compatibility with the overall policies of the Agency as well as the relevant quality standards. 
  • Manage the human resources und her/his responsibility. 
  • Ensure sound financial management of the allocated budget. 
  • Represent the Agency in meetings and vis-à-vis the relevant EU Institutions. 
  • Liaise with the European Commission and other stakeholders for the implementation of activities in line with the agreed approach by the Director.
