The high-ranking university joins the largest innovation network in Europe for knowledge sharing and future projects.
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), is one of the leading technical universities in Europe. Its significant contributions to industrial research and business make it an ideal partner for EIT Manufacturing. In turn, the UPC will benefit from EIT Manufacturing’s network of partners and project opportunities. It will be EIT Manufacturing West’s fourth university member, together with Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology, Ecole Centrale de Nantes and Grenoble INP.
EIT Manufacturing West is thrilled to announce the incorporation of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) as a new member of EIT Manufacturing. As the #1 ranking technical university in Spain and among the top 20 in Europe, with nearly 30 000 students distributed in 65 Bachelor’s Degrees, 97 Master’s (3 of them specialised in Manufacturing) and 47 PhD programs, UPC brings EIT Manufacturing to a new level, especially within Western European ecosystem development. They also have a strong background in continuous education (more than 270 programs) as well as a custom programme to bring technology to the market, that managed to create 11 start-ups last year. On top of that, UPC has a long track record with other EIT Communities (being an active member of 6 of them) and is strongly tied with most of the current EIT Manufacturing community.
