The European Commission and the EIT are celebrating ten years of powering innovation and are looking ahead to the future of the Institute.

Over the past five years, the EIT has made great strides. The number of EIT Innovation Communities supported has grown to eight and our wide range of innovation support activities has already resulted in:

  • a new generation of entrepreneurs with over 2 300 graduates from our entrepreneurial education programmes and thousands of other entrepreneurs trained through EIT education programmes
  • generated more than 900 new products and services brought to the market and more than 6 100 jobs created
  • powered over 2 000 innovative start-ups and scale-ups that have raised well over EUR 1 billion in external investment

If you were not able to join, you can find a video of the event below:

Against the backdrop of Horizon Europe, the proposed Research and Innovation Framework Programme for the years 2021-2027, the event will provide a moment to look ahead and discuss the EIT’s role in helping our society tackle pressing global challenges. You will hear from Tibor Navracsics, Commissioner responsible for the EIT and Dirk Jan van den Berg, Chairman of the EIT Governing Board.
