#EITCrisisResponse - EIT Food COVID-19 Bridge Fund - Call for applications

EIT Food launches COVID-19 Bridge Fund for EU agrifood startups that have been affected by coronavirus as part of the EIT Crisis Response Initiative.

This call is open to all European food & agri startups and scaleups (based in a Member State of the EU or Horizon2020-associated country) that meet the eligibility criteria, including those currently supported by EIT Food and those who have completed prior EIT Food Business Creation programmes.

Startups with high impact and growth potential have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Many innovation activities needed for ventures to bring their solution to market are being delayed and disrupted, customer adoption has slowed down and raising capital from external investors is proving more challenging. 

As part of the EIT’s Crisis Response Initiative, this activity directly contributes to the European Union’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic

The unique funding mechanism will provide timely financial support of between EUR 200 000 and EUR 500 000 to a select number of agri & food ventures addressing one of EIT Food’s focus areas:

  1. Alternative proteins  
  2. Sustainable Agriculture  
  3. Targeted Nutrition  
  4. Sustainable aquaculture  
  5. Digital transformation of traceability  
  6. Circular food systems  

The aim of the financial support is to help ventures adapt to the crisis, to continue critical innovation activities, and to bridge the gap to securing follow-on funding. 

With an application deadline of 28 May, eligible startups and scaleups are being urged to apply through the F6S platform here.
