Join the EIT Digital Summer School in Braga (Portugal) on 05 - 18 July 2020

Application deadline: 15 April 2020

Fintech is a new financial industry that applies technology to improve financial activities. The application of technology to the delivery of financial services enables disruptive innovations that have the potential to redefine the competition in the finance industry at large. Traditional finance firms are pressured to undergo digital transformation as big technology firms and fin-tech start-ups are entering the traditional finance markets with technologically improved financial services.

The EIT Digital Fintech Applications Summer School is a business-oriented course focused on the intersection of finance and technology. The school introduces the students to the business implications of applying technology to financial services and to the related business theories.

Students will work in groups to crack business cases handed by traditional finance firms, big technology firms, or fin-tech start-ups. Each group will tackle one business case related to a real business development challenge, such as how to apply technology to financial services to create innovations and develop new businesses; and how to implement a digital transformation program in a traditional finance firm.
