Head of Unit Communication and Engagement (AD 9)

The EIT is now organising a call for expressions of interest with a view to establishing a reserve list for Temporary Staff (TA) for the profile of Head of Unit Communication and Engagement. The place of employment will be Budapest, where the EIT seat is located. Applications from female candidates are strongly encouraged.

The Head of Unit Communications and Engagement will be responsible for managing the Communication & Engagement Unit of the EIT Headquarters in Budapest under the general supervision of Head of Operations - Innovation, Education and Communication, in line with the strategic objectives set in the EIT’s Strategic Innovation Agenda and Single Programming Document in the area of responsibility. 

TASKS:

Ensure support to the EIT Director and Head of Operations – Innovation, Education and Communication for the achievement of the EIT’s objectives.

  • Prepare and implement the EIT’s communications and stakeholder engagement strategy and dissemination activities
  • Coordinate the EIT’s engagement of key stakeholders within the area of responsibility, including the European Commission, Council/ Member States and the European Parliament and organise a structured dialogue and Stakeholder Forum with key Knowledge Triangle stakeholders.
  • Ensure the dissemination of lessons learnt and good innovation practices to the wider EU innovation community and beyond, including EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities, EIT Alumni, EIT National Contact Points.
  • Ensure synergies with other EU programmes and key players in the European Innovation Ecosystem.
  • Define the unit work programme including financial and human resources needs, coordinate work within the unit and with other units and represent the unit at important meetings.
  • Manage the human resources of the unit including leave and absence management, evaluating staff performance, conducting orientation for new staff, and training new members.
  • Contribute to the financial and operational management in the area of responsibility, including allocation of budget, procurements, implementation of contracts, payments and reporting.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the EIT’s objectives through inputs to horizontal coordination activities, teamwork, proactive internal communication, and inputs to the work of colleagues.
