EIT Awareness Day in the Czech Republic

The Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is organising a stakeholder conference to raise awareness of the EIT and its KICs’ role and scope among Czech stakeholders on 22 January, 2013 in Prague.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) was established with the objective of strengthening Europe's innovation capacity through the so-called KICs (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) covering the knowledge triangle of research, education and innovation. The EIT is not a new funding instrument for individual projects, but supports setting-up and activities of the KICs across Europe.

The KICs are the EIT's operational units working in cross-disciplinary areas of strategic importance. In the KICs, the three sides of the knowledge triangle are interconnected encouraging new forms of cooperation and synergies. So far, the following three KICs have been established in Europe: Climate-KIC (Climate Change) EIT ICT Labs (Information and Communication Technologies) KIC InnoEnergy (Sustainable Energy). Several new KICs are expected to be launched in the period of 2014-2018 (Innovation for Healthy living and active aging, Raw materials, Food4future, Urban mobility, Added-value manufacturing, Smart secure societies).

The conference language will be English & Czech.
