EIT Awareness Day in Malta

The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST), SmartCity Malta, Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA), Malta Enterprise (ME) and the University of Malta would like to invite you to the ‘Joining Europe’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities’ Conference.

The event will focus on informing Maltese public and private entities about the work of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and on how Malta can participate.

The first part of the conference will be dedicated to learning how the EIT and its Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) are set up and function, particularly how do they foster closer collaboration across the ‘knowledge triangle’ of higher education, research and industry. The second half of the event will be an opportunity for Malta, through its various entities and represented companies/institutions, to highlight what opportunities and value Malta can offer by participating in the EIT through its KICs.

The three current KICs, i.e. Climate-KIC, EIT ICT Labs KIC and KIC InnoEnergy, are open partnerships, hence able to take on board new relevant partners. Furthermore, over the next programming period, 2014-2020, the EIT is poised to further invest into the current and five new KICs, the latter envisaged to address topics like: healthy living and active ageing, raw materials, food4future, added-value manufacturing, and urban mobility.
