EIT Education Conference

The EIT organised a conference on 2 and 3 December 2010 in Leuven - Belgium, which addressed "The role of the EIT in the Education Landscape".

The EIT mission is to become a “world class body for excellence in higher education, research and innovation” (EIT Regulation). This conference will focus on the EIT’s impact in the field of higher education and will present its activities in the field of higher education and highlight the features and added value of the EIT degrees.

The conference discussed and developed the field of higher education as an important cornerstone of the EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA). The EIT´s first SIA will set out the direction for the EIT's long-term development. It will have far-reaching implications for virtually all aspects of the EIT – including the EIT’s role and its contribution to the European education, innovation and research landscape. Active contribution from key stakeholders will help shape the SIA, which the EIT will present to the European institutions in June 2011.
