Save-the-date: Wednesday 10 March, 10:00 to 11:00 (Brussels time, CET).
The COVID-19 pandemic swept through Europe in March 2020 and considerably disrupted the European economy and citizens’ lives. Since the start of the outbreak, the European Union has been at the forefront of supporting innovators to tackle the pandemic and the impact on societies. Very quickly, the European Commission mobilised its different programmes to spur innovation and allow relevant actors to respond to the crisis.
To present the results of support to innovators by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) during the crisis, join us for this online event opened by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, who will be joined by three innovators who have benefitted from support:
- Odile Duvaux, CEO of Xenothera, a company supported by the EIC that has developed a treatment for patients with moderate COVID-19 (currently in a clinical trial, ready this summer)
- Peter Lakatos, CEO of Entremo, from Team Discover who won the EIC #EUvsVirus Hackathon and supported by the EIT
- David Schmelzeisen, Co-Founder of Impact Products (Project ViruShield) a project supported by the EIT that has created alternative high-performance personal protective equipment (PPE) fabric
The event will be livestreamed on this page, join us on Wednesday at the link below:
