EIT Climate-KIC supported Lilium gains huge media attention (and funding)

EIT Climate-KIC New York Times CNN tech

Lilium, a start-up supported by EIT Climate-KIC, has developed the world's first zero-emissions electric plane.

That seems to have been a winning idea, because now Lilium is attracting serious media attention and serious funding.

On 5 September, the company was featured on CNN Tech

The same day, the New York Times ran a story on the company, which currently has around 70 employees.

What made these two media giants interested? An investment round of USD 90 million led by Tencent Holdings of China. Other companies involved include Obvious Ventures, backed by Ev Williams, one of the co-founders of Twitter, Liechtenstein's LGT Group, and investment firm Atomico, run by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennström.

Congratulations to Lilium on their continued success.
