Autumn 2012 Issue

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology is proud to present the first edition of the EIT & KICs Newsletter. Inside this issue you will find some highlights of exciting developments and success stories at the EIT and from its Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).
The EIT is unique as it provides seamless support to the new generation of entrepreneurs able to make a difference by reducing Europe’s innovation gap. The EIT does so by focusing on all the aspects of the innovation chain: from education, research and innovation to the entrepreneurial spirit needed to succeed.
The EIT & KICs Newsletter gives a glimpse into the different activities taking place at the EIT and its KICs. Venture creation, the famous worldwide competition organised by Bill Clinton to developing talent to fight climate change as well as concrete examples of new businesses, models and innovation projects are all covered in this autumn 2012 edition of our newsletter.
Further information about the EIT’s unique approach to innovation, can be read in our first publication “Catalysing innovation in the Knowledge Triangle: Practices from the EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities”. This publication showcases the approach taken by the EIT to catalyse the knowledge triangle (business, higher education and research) in Europe.
