EIT Urban Mobility Boosts Start-up Growth with New Partners

EIT Urban Mobility collaborates with seven strategic start-up ecosystem agents across Europe, each holding the network, investment experience and knowledge to help accelerate and improve mobility domestically.

Ecosystem networks are vital as they drive innovation, economic growth and global competitiveness. By connecting key players, these networks foster collaboration, enabling faster technological advancements. In the case of partnerships with EIT Urban Mobility, they provide start-ups and investors access to investment and co-investment opportunities as well as business development opportunities helping them to grow and scale.

Additionally, they accelerate and improve knowledge sharing and regulatory support, allowing start-ups to expand across the EU’s single market. Orchestrated collaborations between tech ecosystems enhance Europe’s ability to compete globally, ensuring sustainable development and digital transformation across industries.

Working with global ecosystem leaders

Together with EIT Urban Mobility, Via ID and Moove Lab in Paris renewed their contract for another year and the signatories of the new partnerships are: The Drivery, Berlin, OGR Torino, Turin and Drive TLV, Tel Aviv.

These start-up ecosystem partnerships gain increased significance as they all operate within the top 40 of globally ranked start-up ecosystems. These rankings are as per The Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2024 which analyses data from 4.5 million start-ups across 300 global ecosystems.

Working with globally recognised and leading ecosystems is key to the success of these partnerships. It is through them that EIT Urban Mobility can best interact with key players and connect ecosystems, creating a network that is unparalleled in Europe.

Renewing an effective partnership

As mentioned, Moove Lab and EIT Urban Mobility have renewed their partnership for 2025. Via ID’s ‘Moove Lab’ is the leading mobility accelerator in France, focusing on start-ups in the early stage (up to series A) and adopting a systemic approach in connecting businesses, start-ups and public organisations.

First partnered together in 2022 with great success, this partnership proved valuable to the domestic ecosystem by providing start-ups with the pan-European connections and funding opportunities of EIT Urban Mobility so they can apply for EIT Urban Mobility’s funding and accelerator programmes. Through its connection with the Moove Lab, EIT Urban Mobility now receives around 35 annual applications from French start-ups and has supported 20 French companies with EUR 13M invested since 2022.

The continued collaboration with ecosystems underscores EIT Urban Mobility’s commitment to fostering sustainable urban mobility. The local knowledge and regional access start-up ecosystems give is essential to furthering urban mobility in Europe. As a network, these partnerships act as essential gateways offering both inward access and outward opportunity. They also provide the local ecosystem with direct funding opportunities, strengthening the mobility landscape there.
