Meet a selection of EIT Manufacturing's Business Creation activities

EIT Manufacturing aims at creating an encouraging environment for business creation. In doing so, it supports entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups, scale-ups, and established companies.

EIT Manufacturing supports entrepreneurs launching new business ideas, as well as helps accelerating and transforming existing start-ups and companies. The end-goal: To create European gazelles – high-growth ambitious companies which, through its unique know how and ambitious strategy, can achieve high rates of value-added job creation, and proposing innovative solutions to make Europe a better place to live & work!

Below, you can read more about some of its activities and meet two companies that EIT Manufacturing has been supporting through in 2020 and that were presented on the mainstage at our Annual EIT Manufacturing Summit.

Gazelle Accelerator is an acceleration programme, which provides SMEs and start-ups with the support and tools needed to excel their businesses and trigger effective connections, while introducing their competitive solutions into the manufacturing network of the EIT Manufacturing ecosystem.

PlasticFri is a GreenTech company from Sweden with the vision to end plastic pollution. Their mission is to transform renewable resources to bio-based products for replacing disposable plastics. PlasticFri directly contributes to several SDG as well as 5 out of 8 EU’s “Green Deal Sustainability Goals” while enhancing the European Union’s competitiveness and leadership in clean technologies.

BALTLED  is a Lithuanian-based SME developing and manufacturing innovative led lighting solutions. The goal is to improve the quality of light, reduce energy waste and maximise the saving on energy bills.

These Business Creation activities/start-ups were presented on the main stage at the 2020 EIT Manufacturing Summit on December 10 & 11. In 2020, EIT Manufacturing has supported more than 80 activities.
