Sensoneo secures EUR 6.2M in series A funding with EIT Digital support

Sensoneo, a pioneering provider of smart waste management solutions and an alumnus of the EIC-EIT Digital Venture Acceleration Programme, recently announced the successful attainment of EUR 6.2 million in series A funding. The funding round was led by Taiwania Capital, with the participation of existing investors including Crowdberry, the EIC Fund, and the Venture to Future Fund.

Sensoneo is commercialising enterprise-grade SaaS solutions to cost-efficiently manage end-to-end waste lifecycles, foster traceability, and significantly contribute to the transition towards a circular economy. By offering cities and businesses digital transformation, automation of critical daily operations, and data-driven decision-making, Sensoneo streamlines waste collection and significantly reduces their environmental footprint. The solution is used by factories worldwide for their industrial waste management and has been adopted by several countries for their nationwide DRS (Deposit Return System) on plastic recycling.

This fundraising will allow us to consolidate our market-leading position in our markets worldwide, while at the same time continue to innovate to always be at the forefront of our customers' needs. Sensoneo is proud to have been amongst the ten winners of the EIC-EIT Digital Venture Acceleration Programme. Furthermore, the support of EIT Digital’s access to finance experts was highly valuable as we pursued our goal of a series A investment.

The Slovakia-based company now operates in over 80 countries across five continents and is preparing to contribute to Europe‘s largest smart waste installation in Madrid. The new influx of funding will bolster Sensoneo's expansion into other regions, fueling on-going innovation and facilitating deeper penetration into global markets.

The EIT Digital Growth Services team is thrilled to have supported a leading company in the waste management and recycling economy, making digital innovations truly impactful for all European citizens. Now Sensoneo is poised to scale and deploy its deep-tech waste management solutions in new markets. We’re so pleased to see European digital innovations going global.
