Seven Digital Health start-ups selected for the European Health Catapult Final in London

Digital Health Semi-final organised by the French and Belgium/Netherlands innovation hubs, took place in Brussels in the IMEC office.

EIT Health has announced the winning start-ups who will compete in the digital health category in the European Health Catapult Contest. The start-ups were chosen during a pitching contest after two days of mentoring and coaching.

The EIT Health European Health Catapult Digital Health Semi-final was organised by the Belgium/Netherlands and France innovation hubs.

After the first regional selection, 14 European Digital Health startups have been invited to a three-day bootcamp that took place in the IMEC office in Brussels. During September 25-27 session, the involved start-ups and SMEs have the chance to promote their ideas to potential investors and industrial partners, to improve their business models, to meet with mentors and coaches, and to meet colleagues from leading innovative health European start-ups.

The jury has selected seven winners in the Digital Health category:

Advantis: Advantis has developed a highly advanced web-based software solution, Brainance™, for the display, analysis, and processing of brain MRI exams with state-of-the-art scientific methodologies.

BloodLink: BloodLink is solving the global issue of blood shortage and blood wastage and aspires to make blood as a resource accessible to everyone in times of need. They provide a service of make blood collection on demand for blood banks and help them manage their blood inventory by connecting them to other blood banks, blood donors and NGO’s through our cloud based platform.

Complex Disease Detector by Hippogriff: Hippogriff has developed an artificial intelligence technology for screening and early diagnosis of heart diseases. In their strong ecosystem many actors are already involved including patients, doctors, hospitals, employers, insurance companies, governments and society at large.

WIVI by E-Health Technical Solutions: E-Health Technical solution is focused on the design and development of technical and clinical solutions for health problems related to the assessment, training, and treatment of functional dysfunction in vision with an exclusive and innovative technology. WIVI is an integrated system based on 3D visualization to detect and improve the dysfunction of binocular vision.

Evolyst: Provides with expertise in software development, graphic design, research and mobile strategy and are focused on health. Evolyst works with Healthcare Providers, Academia & the Private Sector to produce innovative Health & Care apps.

FibriCheck by Quompium: A software screening and monitoring application on prescription for the detection of irregular heart rhythms, including atrial fibrillation.
FibriCheck, is a CE-certified diagnostic solution to detect heart rhythm disorders, with a focus on atrial fibrillation, outside the clinical environment by monitoring the heart rhythm of the patient through the smartphone camera.

Viomedo: Viomedo gives an easy access to clinical trials in order to improve long term therapies. On Viomedo patients receive a transparent overview on all relevant clinical trial information and the direct possibility to test their eligibility to the appropriate trial. Simultaneously Viomedo offers medical researchers and pharmaceutical companies effective patient recruitment services for their clinical trials.

These seven finalists will join start-ups competing in the biotech and medtech categories in a competition to determine the “best-of-the-best” during the EIT Health Summit in London in December.
