Become EIT's next Alumni President

Looking to lead the 'Network of Networks', at the frontier of people and technologies? Do you want to drive a transition for a more connected, sustainable future for Europe?

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is selecting a new EIT Alumni President. Academics, business representatives, entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers from the EIT Alumni Community are encouraged to apply.

The EIT Alumni President will be tasked with building a strategic vision for the EIT Alumni Community. This prestigious role provides the opportunity to shape the agenda of the EIT Community, to coordinate its operations, and to represent EIT Alumni to external stakeholders. 

Following the assessment process including revision of applications, support from EIT Alumni communities and interviews the EIT Alumni Selection Committee will submit a shortlist of applications to the EIT Director for the appointment of the EIT Alumni President. The role is paid and will last for a period of two years. 

Please, note that the EIT Alumni President will be entitled to a fee of EUR 225/112,5 for each full/half day actually worked (maximum 15 days quarterly, maximum 60 days per year).

The EIT Alumni Board

The EIT Alumni President will lead the EIT Alumni Board, which is comprised of representatives from the EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities and supported by an EIT representative and an EIT Alumni Board Observer Community Coordinator. 

The EIT Alumni Board provides an effective and sustainable governance structure for the growing EIT Alumni Communities. It serves to unify communication flows and drive decision making and the implementation of EIT Alumni activities.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure will be carried out by the EIT Alumni Selection Committee supported by EIT KIC Alumni Communities/Associations. The procedure is expected to take approximately three months following the closure of the Call. 

The selection process will consist of the following stages: 

  • Publication of the Call
  • Submission of applications to the EIT Alumni Selection Committee
  • Evaluation phase conducted by the EIT Alumni Selection Committee
  • Interviews with shortlisted candidates and selection of the EIT Alumni President
  • Decision and appointment of the EIT Alumni President by the EIT Director
