EIT Urban Mobility: Summer School on transportation

An intensive learning period for professionals and graduate students in the field of transportation and urban planning, including online lectures and innovation workshops.

EIT Urban Mobility organises, as part of its Master School, the first Summer School! This year, we will build upon the experiences of the Aalto University Summer School on Transportation (ASTRA), celebrating this year its 14th edition. This Summer School offers innovative and practical approaches to understand and solve timely transport problems in both developed and developing countries. The school presents an intensive learning experience for transport professionals and graduate students of varying backgrounds.

Towards Integrated, Customized and Automated Mobility Futures?

The theme of the Summer School on Transportation emphasizes value-driven approach in re-imagining our future urban mobility systems, while taking into account larger societal trends of automation and digitalisation. Underlying Nordic values such as social justice, citizen well-being, and trust in institutions, the focus will be on emerging mobility technologies and services around urban mobility hubs.

Activities during this Summer School include online lectures and group work activities, focused on various aspects of innovation, planning and policy, including a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods.

Our lecturers include renowned experts from universities around the world.

This year, Aalto’s Summer School will be integrated with the EIT Urban Mobility Master School, as well as with COST Action 16222 focusing on the Wider Impacts and Scenario Evaluation of Autonomous and Connected Transport (WISE-ACT).
