Project Officer (FG IV)

The EIT is now organising a call for expressions of interest with a view to establishing a reserve list for Contract Staff (CA) for the profile of Project Officer. 

The place of employment will be Budapest, where the EIT seat is located. Potentially, candidates on the reserve list could be offered a position in the EIT Liaison Office in Brussels. Applications from female candidates are strongly encouraged.

JOB PROFILE

The Project Officer will contribute to the supervision, monitoring and assessment of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) of the EIT, their long-term strategies, operations as well as their portfolio of activities. KICs address major societal challenges by fostering innovation based on the principles of integrating the knowledge triangle of education, research and business. 

The themes addressed by the current nine KICs are:

  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation;
  • Digitalisation - Future information and communication society;
  • Sustainable energy;
  • Healthy living and active ageing;
  • Raw materials - sustainable exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and substitution;
  • Food4Future - sustainable supply chain from resources to consumers;
  • Added-value manufacturing;
  • Urban mobility;
  • Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries.

In addition, the EIT is in the process of establishing a new KIC in the field of water, marine and maritime sectors and ecosystems.

TASKS

In particular, the tasks of the Project Officer will include the following:

  • Project/programme management including planning, monitoring, evaluation, project closure and post project activities;
  • Contribute to the assessment of KIC Business Plans and amendments, the process of allocation of grants to KICs, and the assessment the interim and final reports on grants submitted by the KICs;
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Supervision Framework of KICs as well as to the implementation of continuous monitoring activities, in particular by providing business intelligence support;
  • Contribute to periodical reporting and data analysis in the area of responsibility, with an emphasis on KICs’ financial performance and progress towards financial sustainability;
  • Contribute to the financial and operational management in the area of responsibility, including initiating procurement/grant procedures and managing experts/procurement contracts;
  • Representation and external coordination in the area of responsibility;
  • Contribute to the achievement of the EIT’s objectives through inputs to horizontal coordination activities, teamwork, proactive internal and external communication and inputs to the work of colleagues.

The jobholder may be asked to carry out any other tasks as deemed necessary in the interest of the service.
