EIT Digital is organising on April 28 from 12:00 to 13:00 (CET) the Reopen society using physical COVID-19 contact tracing tokens webinar.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced European countries to temporarily shut down businesses and events to limit the transmission of the disease.

Despite the vaccination, contact tracing - the process of warning the individuals that they have previously been exposed to a COVID-19-infected person - is essential in tracking and breaking these chains of transmission.

As an alternative to the struggling smartphone-based contact tracing apps, since mid-2020, EIT Digital has supported European entrepreneurial teams developing token-based tracing systems in the Nordics, Benelux, Italy, UK, and Hungary. These targeted European solutions have been piloted at construction sites, stadiums, schools and offices.

In this one-hour webinar, EIT Digital brings together experts in contact tracing, representatives from the five supported entrepreneurial teams and policy makers from all over Europe, to discuss how token-based contact tracing systems could help Europe to reopen the society.
