The French Presidency of the European Council will organize, on Thursday 13 January afternoon in Paris, a high-level conference dedicated to “a stronger industry for a more independent Europe”.
This will be the first event of the French Presidency, and also the opening event in the Competitiveness agenda. During this conference, high-level public and private panelists will focus on the actions needed to secure European supplies of critical raw materials. They will discuss the need for a more strategic approach to our vulnerabilities, similar to what our major partners and competitors are doing. Finally, they will examine the tools, like the IPCEIs, and the fundings likely to be effectively mobilized or developed to strenghten the resilience of our industries.
As part of this event, EIT RawMaterials CEO Bernd Schäfer will give a keynote speech entitled "How to reduce EU strategic dependencies on critical raw materials" at 16:15.
Given the sanitary conditions, the conference will be broadcast live and available in three languages, French, English and German.
