Intelligent mobile application helps users achieve a healthy work/life balance.
During his former career as a project manager, Emmanuel Pont, Smarter Time CEO, had observed that time management was one of the main issues facing our society - on a personal as well as on a professional level. Burnout, exhaustion, and stress are only some of the symptoms demonstrating that we feel overwhelmed by the way our days are organised. That is why he came up with an idea for a time-tracking app that would help people truly understand how they use their time to forge better habits and get time back for what really matters to them.
Emmanuel and two of his friends decided to bring together their complementary skills to start Smarter Time. The aim was to develop an intelligent mobile application, which would put recent technological advances in the users’ service and help them achieve a healthy work/life balance. The start-up was launched in 2014, and it is one of the 12 start-up candidates of French Innovation Journey from Education to Business.
Smarter Time’s Android version came out at the very end of 2016. Since then, it has overtaken the 200 000 downloads milestone and has received coverage in outlets such as France 24, Fast Company or AMC. The team is now working to develop a fully-fledged automated coach and an iOS version which is expected to be released in the next few months.
To implement their plans and accelerate their growth, they are currently in the middle of a round of funding which they expect to close in the next three months. EIT Health will help Smarter Time in developing health and wellness features and in spreading the application across European countries.
