EIT InnoEnergy honoured with the title “The one who changes Polish industry”
Among the awarded were also innovative Polish entrepreneurs, representatives of industrial companies from the public sector and financial institutions.
EIT InnoEnergy, the European innovation engine for sustainable energy, was honoured with the title “The one who changes Polish industry” as an effective supporter of innovation in the energy sector, realistically contributing to important and unavoidable changes in this sector of the economy. The award was given on 27th February in Warsaw, during the 19th edition of Forum Zmieniamy Polski Przemysł (We Change Polish Industry Forum) organized by economic magazine Nowy Przemysł and WNP.PL.
The award during the evening gala was accepted by Jakub Miler, CEO at EIT InnoEnergy Central Europe. 'The recipe for innovation is, in principle, quite simple: to start building today a product that meets the needs of tomorrow. What seems simple in theory, as usual in practice turns out to be much more difficult, especially when we are talking about predicting the future of the energy market. That is why I dedicate this award to all those who have the courage to build such solutions and the ambition to enter international markets with them,' said Jakub Miler.
EIT InnoEnergy cooperates with more than 400 partners from forty countries, from the largest industrial concerns, through leading research and academic centres, to innovative entrepreneurs. Every year, EIT InnoEnergy invests about 400 million PLN in solutions that increase the competitiveness of the economy. Thanks to EIT InnoEnergy’s activity so far, 120 products which meet the energy challenges of a changing society have been introduced to the market.
Forum Zmieniamy Polski Przemysł is one of the most important cyclical debates in the country about the state, changes and prospects for the development of the Polish economy. Every year the event is attended by representatives of management boards of leading companies from major industries, government representatives and independent experts. The selection of speakers as well as current and more important topics for the Polish economy makes the Forum one of the most influential and prestigious debates in the country.
Issues raised during this year’s edition concerned the most important developmental challenges as well as opportunities and threats faced by particular sectors of the Polish economy. During the session devoted to energy, the speakers discussed the situation on the Polish energy market in the context of rising prices, new regulations, as well as technological and market trends.
The winners included 3M in Poland, VIGO Systems, ING Bank Śląski, Medcom, Panattoni Europe, Mr Piotr Naimski, Plenipotentiary of the Government for Strategic Energy Infrastructure, Gaz-System and Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo, Polskie Porty Morskie (Polish Seaports), European Investment Bank and Mr Zbigniew Jakubas.
