SIEA and EIT Manufacturing Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Boost Industrial Innovation

The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) and EIT Manufacturing have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at empowering small and medium-sized industrial enterprises across Europe.

This strategic partnership seeks to mobilise, support, and connect these enterprises with European innovation actors within the EIT Manufacturing network.

The MoU was signed by SIEA Director General Alexander Hlatky and Johannes Hunschofsky, Managing Director, EIT Manufacturing East. Speaking about the collaboration, Director General Alexander Hlatky expressed optimism about the opportunities it presents for motivating industrial companies and enhancing their innovation performance and digital skills.

After two and a half years of informal cooperation with EIT Manufacturing, the memorandum brings new opportunities to motivate industrial companies and assist them in enhancing their innovation performance and digital skills. We plan to utilise proven support tools in which SIEA participates. As a result, services and experiences of European partners will be more accessible to entrepreneurs.

As part of this collaboration, SIEA and EIT Manufacturing plan to engage with the European digital HUB EXPANDI 4.0. EXPANDI 4.0 specialises in assisting small and medium-sized enterprises with digital transformation processes, cybersecurity solutions, education, and digitalisation consulting. Joint activities are also expected to be undertaken with the upcoming national project 'Enhancing the Innovation Performance of the Slovak Economy 2', aimed at providing support to Slovak entities and facilitating their access to services provided through EIT Manufacturing.

The collaboration between SIEA and EIT Manufacturing underscores the importance of forging new partnerships between companies and innovation actors to drive the development of unique products, processes, and services, ultimately fostering competitive and sustainable production.

We are very proud to collaborate with SIEA, as our organisations share a common belief that the strength of the European and Slovak industries lies in their ability to innovate and adapt. It is not only about applying new technologies, but about creating an ecosystem where innovation can thrive. Through our collaboration, we aim to further cultivate and grow this ecosystem as well as to explore and enable the path to digital transformation for SMEs, making it a tangible and achievable goal.
