For the second year in a row, EIT Digital's Action Line Digital Cities will be an exhibitor at 2017's Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, November 14-16.

During the 3 days of the Congress, EIT Digital will present 9 of its 2017 Innovation Activities (find all the factsheets here), 2 supported scaleups from its unique Pan-European Accelerator, and its leading educational programmes including a Master School, a Doctoral School and a Professional School.

The a detailed agenda with all the pitches scheduled please click here.

The Digital Cities Action Line main target is to drive digital transformation in smart cities with focus on:

  • Urban mobility: the demographic, geographical and financial limitations to deploy efficient and cost effective public transport will drive the emergence of solutions for a clean, quiet, stressless, and cost effective mobility.
  • Big data analytics: cities need to develop a new role in organising the urban information framework and creating a new informative ecosystem. Big Data analytics and artificial intelligence, acting on data created by IoT sensors and open data, will result in the emergence of new business actors.
  • Resilient cities: safety in a city and resilience to unplannable natural events (e.g. heavy weather) or man-made events (e.g. terrorist attacks) need to be improved at many different stages: analysing threats and risk occurrence, designing mitigation strategies, training, prediction of potentially hazardous situations, etc.

Stéphane Péan, Action Line Leader, considers SCEWC the place to be: "it is the most important international event of the year on Digital Cities. Our innovation activities will present their breakthrough solutions with great announcements. Come meet us at our booth!"
