Host registration for DigiEduHack 2020 is now open!

You can now register as a host for DigiEduHack 2020 and play a role in redefining the future of learning. 

Who can join as a host?

Anyone can join as a host, but there are a few requirements and duties that come with the role. The two most important things: hosts are committed to actually organise a DigiEduHack event on 12 and 13 November 2020, and hosts are committed to follow up with the winning solution of their event. DigiEduHack is not your typical hackathon, so there is not really a "typical host". Educational organisations and institutions, public authorities, libraries, schools, colleges, universities, educational stakeholders, NGOs, cities are the biggest DigiEduHAck host crowd.

Companies, innovation centers and hubs, accelerators, and start-ups are also part of the movement: who can resist the charms of user-driven innovation in digital education? Informal groups of students, teachers or citizens can also join DigiEduHack as hosts. Dare and dive!

How does DigiEduHack works?

DigiEduHack is a movement: it is a series of local hackathons and a main stage happening on the 12-13 November 2020, all around Europe and beyond. Because DigiEduHack aims at being the most inclusive possible, hosts are free to set up themselves the main parameters for their event: the length, the jury, the number of participants, the prizes, etc. Each host is responsible for their own local DigiEduHack event, from crafting their challenge to setting up their organisation crew, recruiting participants, and running the event. The only mandatory requirement is that all local DigiEduHack event are in line with the core values of DigiEduHack: inclusivity, accessibility, sustainability, safety. 

You want an example? Ok, let's take the length of a local DigiEduHack event. We recommend a 2 times 12 hours format. But each host is free to adapt this length to their own local constraints: a school with younger participants can have a ten hours event spread on two days, while a university would organise an intense 24 hours sprint. 

Sounds like ot's a lot of work to be a host? No worries! As a host, you are not alone in your journey: you can count on the support of the DigiEduHack central team and on your fellow hosts. The central team is providing hosts with content, material, a full hands-on framework to help you build the best possible challenge. You can have a glimpse at the available resources here. The list is growing (almost) everyday. The central team is dedicated to make the DigiEduHack experience the smoothest as possible for hosts! You can also connect to fellow hosts via our learning management system (LMS, to be launched in August): our LMS will guide you step by step in crafting your challenge and getting in touch with other hosts.

7. Your pages are approved, you can start recruit your participants
8. Take part to our online community events 
9. Run your DigiEduHack 2020 event
10. Follow up with the winning solution of your event
