Connecting SMEs
Exchange between representatives of atim, the Advanced Technology in Manufacturing Cluster in Ireland, and of EIT Manufacturing has been lively from the start – now the two have agreed on collaborating more regularly and EIT Manufacturing is pleased to welcome atim as a new network partner.
The atim cluster brings together industry, academia and government to unlock new opportunities for manufacturing SMEs based in the Irish Midlands. EIT Manufacturing adds the European dimension to these activities.
SMEs face particular challenges when it comes to transitioning to green and digital solutions or embedding cutting-edge technologies and processes. They may lack the infrastructure as well as know-how in certain areas. The atim cluster fosters a culture of openness amongst companies, knowledge providers and stakeholders in the region and seeks to spark new ways of learning and collaborating with one another on cluster projects to address their challenges in a dynamic way.
Caitríona Mordan manages the atim cluster. She recognises the potential from the network partnership for her members.
The partnership offers atim cluster members an opportunity to collectively tackle challenges faced by manufacturing companies operating in Europe. This connection also facilitates members access and contribute towards sectoral market intelligence and latest innovative solutions in a structured way, so they can become more resilient, productive, and grow competitively into the future.
