The Global Food Venture Programme, by EIT Food, is now open for applications!
The Global Food Venture Programme supports highly qualified PhD students from across Europe to transform their research into a viable business in the Food and AgTech space.
The programme fosters the entrepreneurial growth of doctoral students working on challenges in the Agrifood sector. Young innovators gain essential business creation skills and knowledge through a bespoke six-month curriculum of training bootcamps, mentoring, corporate site visits, global networking events and pitch competitions.
Global Food Venture Programme offers a bespoke six-month curriculum designed to address the needs of aspiring entrepreneurs and early phase start-up ventures. The programme comprises, Summer School in Entrepreneurship, Bootcamp in Business Incubation and International Bootcamp. The programme offers additionally Mobility Grants for business meetings with industry experts to validate technology feasibility and value propositions. The 2021 edition will conclude with a Final Competition Event, where students pitch their business plan in front of a jury, gain valuable feedback and have the chance to win cash prizes for best start-up project. Participants are supported along this journey, with one-on-one Business Coaching to advance start-up ideas and create solid business propositions in food and agtech space.
Programme calls and how to apply
During Stage I, 40 highly motivated PhD students from across Europe will get together for a life-changing, immersive entrepreneurial experience to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and develop business propositions in the food space.
Stage II is designed to support 25 talented PhD students with solid business ideas in food and agriculture. Early stage entrepreneurs will join EIT Food pre-Incubation bootcamp in June, to learn all about viable business creation, and a six-month mentoring programme to bring their ventures to the next level. A second training bootcamp is planned in October, as well as a final pitch competition event in Europe with innovation prizes from EIT Food.
