EIT Climate-KIC’s Open Accelerator

EIT Climate-KIC has launched an Open Accelerator to enable start-ups to get to the next level.

To unlock a net-zero, resilient future, we must harness human ingenuity and catalyse rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented change through innovation. In short, we need more collaboration, less competition.

Inspired by the way TEDx enabled tens of millions around the world to experience the quality and inspiration of TED, EIT Climate-KIC is launching an Open Accelerator.

By sharing the assets, EIT Climate-KIC along with the EIT Community that it has created over the past ten years, through the Open Accelerator will enable hundreds of thousands of transformational start-ups to get to the next level.

How does it work?

EIT Climate-KIC is curating an operating system that enables different local acceleration programmes to run effectively, as well as create and attract resources. EIT Climate-KIC believes that together we can attract and accelerate a higher number of transformational climate impact start-ups.

Timeline and next steps

EIT Climate-KIC is using the first months of 2021 to complete the setup of the operating system and is expecting to start working with the first accelerator partners towards the end of the first quarter of 2021.

If you’d like to learn more, in December EIT Climate-KIC hosted the first webinar on the topic.
